I looked this morning, and something is eating my zucchini and squash leaves. I’m not a big fan or pesticides, so I needed to find an organic option.
My local paper, the Rocky Mountain News, publishes a weekly “Dig” section that offers help to gardeners. And on the back, was my answer!
Here is their recipe for a natural insect spray:
Blend:
6 cloves of crushed garlic
1 minced onion
1 TBL dried hot pepper
1 tsp soap
Into 4 quarts of water. Steep for 2 days. Strain liquid into a spray bottle and spray away.
I’m going to start this tonight so I can get it sprayed on by Monday.
I’m hoping it keeps my dog from eating my tomato leaves too!
