My local King Soopers has been in the process of remodeling their store. Because of this, they set a Grand Opening date of June 4th starting at 6 am. Amongst the many activities for the day, their starting one was to give out a free resusable shopping bag and a coupon book.
Despite my husband thinking I was crazy, I was up and ready to go at 6 am. When I got there, the parking lot was already packed. But I did manage to make it within the first 300 peeps in the front door.
The coupon booklet was well worth getting up. It is packed full of free item coupons for store brand products. Most of which I will be using. I added up the amount that I will be saving, and it comes to over $30 of free products, plus my free shopping back at $0.99.
All in all, for getting up at 6am, driving there and back, walking through the store, I made about $30 + for my efforts.
Well worth getting my butt out of bed on time!
Be on the look out for Grand Openings in your area. Most of the time you can get some good money saving deals as the store draws in customers.
